Course Description & Content

  • Thai Yoga Massage is a unique form of body therapy dating back over 2,500 years to ancient times.
  • This form of massage incorporates gentle rocking, deep stretching and rhythmic compression to create a truly unique and therapeutic massage experience for the recipient.
  • In the first segment of the program, students learn the History, Rules, Methods, Benefits, Directions and Abbreviations of Traditional Thai Yoga Massage.
  • Thai Massage & Yogic Stretch Positions will focus on the Supine and Seated Positions for the recipient and make up a total of 63-Sequences for the whole body, including Feet, Legs, Hips, Shoulders, Arms, Hands, Neck, Back, Scalp and Face.
  • Students will learn how to perform Assisted Yogic Inversion Stretches on a client such as “Plow” “Shoulder Stand”, “Happy Baby” and “Frog”.
  • The concept of initiating internal “energy” movement with the use of Acupressure on the ‘Sen’ Meridians through the body will be introduced and focus on 3-major lines of the body. These lines help to alleviate back and joint pain, reduce headache and create a sense of balance in the body & mind. These Meridians are the same as those found in Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Additional emphasis in this massage is placed on abdominal massage to stimulate digestion function, as well as initiating Sen Energy Flow.
  • Upon completion of this course, students will be able to perform a complete 60-90 min. whole body Thai Yoga Massage on a client.

Why Thai Massage?

  • For Transformation, for Health, for Healing. The client remains fully clothed therefore making Thai Massage a service that can be done almost anywhere
  • Gentle pressure and compression are used to stimulate internal organs, relax tense muscles, and calm the nervous system
  • Passive stretching adjusts the skeletal structure, increases flexibility and restores movement
  • Often compared to a dance, it used rocking motions in which the bodies of both practitioner and client merge in continuing movement
  • Ideal for those desiring deep relaxation, release from stress, and enhanced flexibility, as well as those seeking to increase their level of health, well-being and vitality
  • Thai Massage calms the mind and its therapeutic effects are appropriate for both young and the elderly
  • Thai Massage recognizes the unity of the whole being. Treatment is comprehensive and maximizes the body’s potential
  • Thai Massage is an ancient art with origins extending over 2,500 years in history
